Resumen
QueTomo se puede usar entera sin cuenta, no tiene publicidad, y no usa analítica de terceros ni rastreo entre apps. Podés crear una cuenta con tu mail si querés —es opcional y sólo hace falta para el escaneo de bar—, y si no la creás no sabemos quién sos. Cuatro cosas salen de tu teléfono hacia nuestro servidor —la cuenta, el escaneo de bar, los puntajes de cócteles y una métrica de uso anónima— y las explicamos abajo en detalle, una por una.
Datos que permanecen en tu dispositivo
La app guarda en el almacenamiento local de tu teléfono: tu nombre (si elegís ingresarlo), tus preferencias de sabor, unidades e idioma, tus favoritos, colecciones y lista de compras, y una copia del catálogo de recetas para uso sin conexión. Esta información nunca sale de tu dispositivo y se elimina al desinstalar la app. La única excepción es tu nombre: si creás una cuenta, viaja con ella — lo explicamos en la sección siguiente.
Identificador anónimo de dispositivo
Al instalar la app se genera un identificador aleatorio (por ejemplo, dev-l3k2j-x8f9a2b1) que no está vinculado a tu identidad, a tu cuenta de Apple ni a ningún identificador publicitario. Lo usamos para llevar la cuenta de escaneos del día, para que tu voto sobre un cóctel se pueda actualizar en lugar de duplicarse, y para agrupar la métrica de uso que describimos más abajo. Al desinstalar la app, ese identificador se pierde y no puede recuperarse.
Cuenta (opcional)
Podés usar QueTomo entera sin cuenta: el catálogo, las recetas, Mi Bar, los favoritos, las colecciones y el Modo Fiesta funcionan como invitado. Lo único que pide cuenta es el escaneo de bar, porque cada escaneo consume un servicio de inteligencia artificial que nos cuesta dinero por uso y necesita un titular a quien atribuirle el cupo.
Si elegís crear una cuenta, guardamos en nuestro servidor tres cosas y nada más:
Tu dirección de mail. Es lo que identifica la cuenta.
Tu nombre o apodo, si lo escribiste en la introducción. Es sólo para saludarte por tu nombre.
El idioma que elegiste, para escribirte en el idioma correcto.
No usamos contraseña: te mandamos un código de seis dígitos por mail y lo escribís en la app. El código vence a los diez minutos.
Los únicos mails que te vamos a mandar son ese código cuando lo pedís, y un mail de bienvenida la primera vez que entrás. No hay newsletter, no hay promociones y no le damos tu dirección a nadie.
Podés borrar tu cuenta desde la app, en Perfil → Cuenta → Borrar mi cuenta. Eso elimina de nuestros servidores tu mail, tu nombre y el vínculo con tu dispositivo, de forma inmediata y definitiva. Lo que tengas guardado en el teléfono se queda ahí, y la métrica de uso vuelve a ser lo que era antes de la cuenta: anónima, sin nada que apunte a vos.
Escaneo de bar (opcional)
Si elegís usar la función de escaneo, la foto que tomes se envía a nuestro servidor y de ahí al servicio de inteligencia artificial de Anthropic (Claude) para identificar las botellas visibles. La foto no se almacena — se procesa y se descarta; solo guardamos el contador de escaneos asociado a tu identificador anónimo. Anthropic no utiliza este contenido para entrenar sus modelos. No uses esta función para fotografiar documentos, personas o cualquier cosa que no sea tu estantería de bebidas.
Reseñas de cócteles (opcional)
Si reseñás un cóctel, se envía a nuestro servidor, junto con tu identificador anónimo: el puntaje (un número del 1 al 5) y hasta tres etiquetas que hayas elegido, para calcular el promedio y el resumen que ve el resto de la comunidad.
No se puede escribir texto libre. Las etiquetas salen de una lista cerrada que definimos nosotros —"Del lado dulce", "Más fácil de lo que parece", "Mejor con más hielo"— y lo que se guarda es un código de esa lista, no algo que hayas escrito. Esto no es un detalle técnico: significa que nadie puede publicar nada ofensivo en la app, ni sobre un trago ni sobre otra persona.
Firmar la reseña es opcional y por defecto va anónima. Si tenés cuenta podés elegir que se muestre tu apodo; si no, o si preferís que no aparezca, se publica como "Anónimo". Los invitados siempre reseñan de forma anónima. Tu mail nunca se muestra a nadie.
Podés eliminar tu reseña en cualquier momento tocando la misma estrella otra vez: eso borra el puntaje y las etiquetas también de nuestro servidor. Y si borrás tu cuenta, tus reseñas dejan de estar firmadas y quedan anónimas.
Métrica de uso
Para saber si la app le sirve a la gente —cuánta la usa, qué recetas se miran, en qué parte se traba— registramos el uso de forma anónima en nuestro propio servidor. No usamos Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, el SDK de Facebook ni ninguna herramienta de terceros, y nada de esto se comparte con nadie ni se usa para publicidad.
Junto a tu identificador anónimo se envía:
Datos técnicos. Sistema operativo y su versión, versión de la app, idioma elegido y zona horaria de tu teléfono.
Contadores. Cuántos favoritos, colecciones, tragos probados y botellas tenés cargados. Son números, no listas.
Preferencias de la introducción. Si la completaste, el destilado base que elegiste y tus cuatro valores de sabor.
Acciones. Cuándo abrís la app, qué pantallas recorrés, y qué hacés con las recetas: cuál mirás, cuál agregás o sacás de favoritos, cuál marcás como probada, y cuándo creás una colección o agregás algo a tu lista de compras o a Mi Bar. De cada acción guardamos su nombre, la receta o pantalla a la que se refiere, y la fecha y hora. Cuando agregás algo a la lista de compras o a Mi Bar registramos que ocurrió, nunca qué ingrediente era.
Lo que nunca se envía con la métrica: tu nombre, tu foto de perfil, el contenido de tu lista de compras, el contenido de Mi Bar, ni ningún texto que hayas escrito dentro de la app. Si tenés cuenta, tu nombre está guardado con la cuenta (ver arriba), no con la métrica.
El detalle de acciones se borra automáticamente a los 180 días.
Conexiones de red
Además de lo anterior, la app se conecta a nuestro servidor para descargar el catálogo de recetas. Como en cualquier servicio web, el servidor puede registrar temporalmente direcciones IP con fines técnicos y de seguridad.
Edad mínima
QueTomo muestra contenido relacionado con bebidas alcohólicas y está destinada exclusivamente a personas en edad legal para consumir alcohol en su país. Promovemos el consumo responsable.
Tus derechos
Si tenés cuenta, podés borrarla vos mismo desde la app en cualquier momento: Perfil → Cuenta → Borrar mi cuenta. Es inmediato y no hace falta pedírnoslo.
Para eliminar además los datos asociados a tu dispositivo (contador de escaneos, puntajes y métrica de uso), escribinos por email y borraremos el registro. Desinstalar la app también elimina todo lo guardado localmente.

Summary
QueTomo can be used in full without an account, has no advertising, and uses no third-party analytics or cross-app tracking. You can create an account with your email if you want to — it is optional, and only the bar scanner requires it — and if you don't, we don't know who you are. Four things leave your phone for our server —your account, bar scanning, cocktail ratings, and anonymous usage metrics— and we explain each of them in detail below.
Data that stays on your device
The app stores in your phone's local storage: your name (if you choose to enter it), your taste, unit and language preferences, your favorites, collections and shopping list, and a copy of the recipe catalog for offline use. This information never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app. The one exception is your name: if you create an account, it travels with it — explained in the next section.
Anonymous device identifier
When you install the app, a random identifier is generated (for example, dev-l3k2j-x8f9a2b1) that is not linked to your identity, your Apple account, or any advertising identifier. We use it to track your daily scan allowance, so that your rating of a cocktail can be updated rather than duplicated, and to group the usage metrics described below. Uninstalling the app discards that identifier permanently.
Account (optional)
You can use all of QueTomo without an account: the catalog, the recipes, My Bar, favorites, collections and Party Mode all work as a guest. The only thing that requires an account is bar scanning, because each scan consumes an artificial intelligence service that costs us money per use and needs an owner to charge the allowance to.
If you choose to create an account, we store on our server three things and nothing else:
Your email address. It is what identifies the account.
Your name or nickname, if you entered one during the intro. It is only used to greet you by name.
The language you chose, so we write to you in the right one.
There is no password: we email you a six-digit code and you type it into the app. The code expires after ten minutes.
The only emails we will ever send you are that code when you ask for it, and a welcome email the first time you sign in. There is no newsletter, there are no promotions, and we do not give your address to anyone.
You can delete your account from inside the app, under Profile → Account → Delete my account. That removes your email, your name and the link to your device from our servers, immediately and permanently. Whatever is stored on your phone stays there, and the usage metrics go back to what they were before the account: anonymous, with nothing pointing to you.
Bar scanning (optional)
If you choose to use the scanning feature, the photo you take is sent to our server and from there to Anthropic's AI service (Claude) to identify visible bottles. The photo is not stored — it is processed and discarded; we only keep the scan counter tied to your anonymous identifier. Anthropic does not use this content to train its models. Please don't use this feature to photograph documents, people, or anything other than your liquor shelf.
Cocktail reviews (optional)
If you review a cocktail, the following is sent to our server along with your anonymous identifier: your rating (a number from 1 to 5) and up to three tags you picked, so we can compute the average and the summary the community sees.
There is no free-text field. Tags come from a closed list we define — "On the sweet side", "Easier than it looks", "Better with more ice" — and what gets stored is a code from that list, not anything you wrote. That is not a technical detail: it means nobody can publish anything offensive in the app, about a drink or about another person.
Signing your review is optional and it defaults to anonymous. If you have an account you can choose to show your nickname; if you don't, or you would rather not appear, it is published as "Anonymous". Guests always review anonymously. Your email is never shown to anyone.
You can remove your review at any time by tapping the same star again, which deletes the rating and the tags from our server too. And if you delete your account, your reviews stop being signed and become anonymous.
Usage metrics
To understand whether the app is actually useful —how many people use it, which recipes get opened, where people get stuck— we record usage anonymously on our own server. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, the Facebook SDK, or any third-party tool, and none of this is shared with anyone or used for advertising.
Along with your anonymous identifier, we send:
Technical data. Operating system and version, app version, chosen language, and your phone's time zone.
Counters. How many favorites, collections, tried drinks, and bottles you have saved. These are numbers, not lists.
Onboarding preferences. Whether you completed it, the base spirit you picked, and your four taste values.
Actions. When you open the app, which screens you move through, and what you do with recipes: which one you view, which you add to or remove from favorites, which you mark as tried, and when you create a collection or add something to your shopping list or My Bar. For each action we store its name, the recipe or screen it refers to, and the date and time. When you add something to your shopping list or My Bar we record that it happened, never which ingredient it was.
What is never sent with the metrics: your name, your profile photo, the contents of your shopping list, the contents of My Bar, or any text you have typed inside the app. If you have an account, your name is stored with the account (see above), not with the metrics.
The detailed action log is deleted automatically after 180 days.
Network connections
Beyond the above, the app connects to our server to download the recipe catalog. As with any web service, the server may temporarily log IP addresses for technical and security purposes.
Minimum age
QueTomo displays content related to alcoholic beverages and is intended exclusively for people of legal drinking age in their country. We promote responsible drinking.
Your rights
If you have an account, you can delete it yourself from inside the app at any time: Profile → Account → Delete my account. It is immediate and you do not need to ask us.
To delete the data associated with your device as well (scan counter, ratings and usage metrics), email us and we will remove the record. Uninstalling the app also deletes everything stored locally.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will publish the updated version on this page.
